Address Updates - Satori NCOA

    NCOALink® Move Update Service
    Real-time Processing, 48-Month Data

Every year, over 40 million individuals, families and businesses change addresses. In approximately 84% of these cases, there exists a valid forwarding address. There is no need to suffer the inefficiencies, lost opportunities, and high cost of receiving change-of-address notifications AFTER your mail has been sent. Now you can update your mailing list prior to sending out your mailing.

The Satori fees are $100 per year and $25 for 5000 records. There are no additional fees from CMS to use this module.

To get started, first you need to install the Satori Components.
Click here to go to the Downloads page and choose to install the Satori Components.

Once the Satori Components have been installed, follow these steps to update your mailing list:

  1. Update the Serial Number in the Windows Registry. Click here for details on doing this.
  2. Enable the module: Click Tools > Options > Custom and check the "Satori NCOA Processing Module" check box.
  3. Create your account and update your list: Click Reports > Contacts. Choose "Address Correction NCOA" from the Output drop-down. Optionally choose other criteria and click OK.

Click the confirmation check box in the welcome screen and click Next.

Preview the address list that is going to be verified and click Next.

The first time you do this, you'll need to create an account.
(
The NAICS code listed for Religious Organizations is 813110.)

Subsequent times, just enter your Password.

Once the updates are retrieved, you choose how you want your database updated. You have options to delete an old address, mark the old address as "No Mail" and not "Current". You can even review the updates and choose on a case by case basis (record by record) what you want to do. As an added benefit, you can also update accurate addresses with corrected spelling of streets and cities and properly formatted addresses.

IMPORTANT: don't forget to print the official certificate, or save it to a PDF. If you miss that step, you won't have the certificate to prove to the US Post Office that you updated your list, even though you did get the updates and update your database.

Don't forget to click the Commit Changes. This will update your CMS database with the address changes that were downloaded from Satori.

If you clicked Finish without committing the changes, you can go though the process again (without processing the list and using up credits). Make sure to click "Skip Processing" in the Preview List step (above).
