Installing Office 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
Windows Vista and Windows 7
  • Click Start > All Programs > Windows Update
  • Click Check for Updates. Amongst the updates that are detected should be Office 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1). 
If you don't see the update but have other updates that are recommended, please install the other updates and check for updates again.
If you're still not seeing the update, make sure that your "Windows Update" is configured to check for "Other Microsoft Programs" (not just Windows). Click Settings and check the "Microsoft Update" check box. 
  • Make sure that Office 2010 SP1 is checked and click Install Updates.
  • After the installation is complete, restart your computer.
If you're not sure if SP1 is installed or not, you can click View Update History to view all updates that were installed.

Windows XP
  • Go to http://update.microsoft.com
  • Click Microsoft Update
    Important: running Windows Update (not Microsoft Update) will not give you updates of Office, only for Windows. You must run Microsoft Update.
  • Click Check for Updates (express)
    Amongst the updates that are detected should be Office 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1). If you don't see the update but have other updates that are recommended, please install the other updates and check for updates again.
    If it does not come up, run the Custom (not Express) and look for this update under Optional Software.
  • Make sure that Office 2010 SP1 is checked and click Install Updates.
  • After the installation is complete, restart your computer.

Important: CMS Version 11.7.20 requires Office 2010 SP1 to be installed. If you already tried starting CMS without installing SP1, and are getting a VBA error, you will to repair the CMS installation as follows:
  • Go to (My) Computer > Local Disk C > Chabad Management System.
  • Delete the file CMS11.12.26.accde (you may not see the "accde" extension).
Note: the numbers 11.12.26 as part of the file name is dependant on the version CMS version you installed. So if, for example, you installed version 11.7.18, the name of the file would be CMS11.7.18.accde.)
  • Restart the CMS program by double-clicking the shortcut on your desktop.
